Craft Cask Review
Craft Cask Review
Overall impression | Brother’s Bond Straight Bourbon delivers a smooth, easy-drinking experience with inviting notes of vanilla, spice, and dried fruit. Although it's aged for around four years, it holds its own with a well-balanced flavor and appealing finish. Thoughtfully produced and approachable. While priced slightly higher than other 80 proof bourbons, it remains a great choice for casual bourbon drinkers seeking flavor, smoothness, and story in a pour. |
Appearance | We feel this bourbon is very close to amber in colour, but also aligns with Brother’s Bond’s own description of the colour “sunset gold”. A bright and alluring appearance overall. |
Aromas | The nose is layered. There are immediate notes of vanilla, pepper, or rye spice, and notes of freshly cut wood. In our tasting, we also picked up a bright supporting element, resembling a green apple, as well as hints of sweetness (ripe banana). |
Palate | The immediate elements on the palate are definitely pepper/spice, vanilla, rye and an underlying element of sweetness and dried fruits. |
Finish | The finish is long, with a tangy and dry mouthfeel accompanied by spices that wrap the tongue and a wood element. |
