The Story Behind Their Second Prohibition Collection Release
From 1920 to 1933, the 18th Amendment banned alcohol production and sales in the United States.
During this period, the George T. Stagg Distillery (now Buffalo Trace Distillery) was one of only six distilleries licensed to produce medicinal whiskey. Under President Albert B. Blanton's leadership, these whiskeys were legally prescribed by doctors and dispensed through pharmacies.
This second collection, following the September 2023 release, draws inspiration from archived documents that revealed the original brands' stories from over a century ago.
Exclusive Collaboration with Scandinavian Tobacco Group (STG)
Buffalo Trace partnered with the Scandinavian Tobacco Group to release a set of limited-edition cigars that perfectly complement the Prohibition Collection #2.
Featuring packaging that matches the whiskey bottles, only 750 numbered cigar boxes are available. This collaboration elevates the whiskey experience, combining two timeless indulgences.
Here’s a breakdown of STG limited edition cigars:
Old Fashioned Mountain Corn: Ecuadorian Habano wrapper, Honduran binder, and Nicaraguan filler
Anderson’s Belle: Sumatra wrapper, Nicaraguan binder and filler
Silver Wedding: Honduran Corojo wrapper, Honduran binder and filler
V.O.P.: Ecuadorian Sun Grown wrapper, Nicaraguan binder, and Nicaraguan & Dominican filler
